Ever notice how flexible time seems to be every now and then? Lately I've misplaced minutes and seconds in various places - predominately the internet. Which is probably why I write this column.

During one of my lapses I landed at the Gone to the Dogs website. I admit I only went there for the Game - which is another one of those "if you were a dustbunny than you'd live under that weird broken useless knob under the toilet" type of quizzes. This one is of the dog variety, and apparently I'm Swedish Vallhund (something like the modern Welsh Corgi). This label actually fits since this breed apparently has very short legs, just like me. The site itself is about a film, or something. I became bored and moved on.

Moving on brought me to Mythical Ireland. Don't ask me why I ended up on this site after trying to find out what kind of dog I might karma myself reincarnated in the future. I simply don't know. This site is extremely cool. Especially if you like reading about ancient sites. I had the honor of visiting New Grange in Ireland a few years back and found it to be a truly magical place. What I find the most interesting is how we always assume these places were important monuments dedicated to worship and prayer. Personally I tend to wonder if maybe some of these places were just ordinary dwellings, or even better, top of the line stone age food pantries. Okay. Maybe not.

Be sure to check out the 101 Facts about Newgrange. It was very thought provoking. I found the site to be a very peaceful place and I hope to return and visit it again someday. My favorite fact: Newgrange was said to have provided endless supplies of ale, three trees that were always in fruit, and two pigs, one of which was living, the other cooked and ready to eat.

After losing a bit more time I found myself reading about Tarra the Elephant. We are the same age, and frankly my life has been much more dull than hers. She even ice skates better than me. Tarra lives at The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee (my birth state). The wonderful people that run the nation's only natural habitat refuge for Elephants are trying to provide a haven for these endangered gentle giants. (I pulled these words liberally from their Mission Statement for a description.) I am extremely tempted to buy some of Tarra's art.

Just in case you find time as flexible as I do have a look here. Maybe you'll understand it better. A Walk Through Time is a quick history of the measurement of time.

More later.

Surfing Bonus: For those of you that enjoy quirky flash cartoons visit Big Bunny. It isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I'm sure one or two of you will enjoy the yummy episodes.
