Were we "Hibernating", you ask ?

No, not really.

It is just that JD and I had heard that we were to be the target of some sinister 'leftist' plot, and - with our customary slick military precision - we slipped (seamlessly) into 'Defensive' mode.

Now that the initial threat seems to have receded, the empty bottles - which formed the first line of our cunning defensive position - are to be removed.

But we will always remain alert, and aware !

I smacked 32541 today, but that's hardly braggable, considering I felt I should -- and could -- hit 34k.

Fate entered the mix. New neighbors have arrived, most blessedly with a six year old girl with whom Lil has bonded. I sit in my garage studio with the door open, and Lil plays in the front yard and driveway ... and the new neighbor kids stop by to play and visit. Bliss!

Word count flies away when there are kids hovering around, playing with dogs and each other and peering at the strange lady in the garage studio with a laptop. They have questions, they have stories, they have requests to tell what "this thing" is or "can you come see what we drew in the driveway"?

Wordcount was for deedles, but the kids were simply priceless. Not only is there a lovely girl Lil's age, but her two brothers who are a bit older.

It's a good thing the garage door can be open at this time of year. Otherwise, the heart-cooties coming off me for the boys would clog the air.

I think these were the same kids back a few years later. It's November so it's sweeps month. I couldnt' get everyone to shut up long enough to hear.

She did a bit better and Alex knew about it so it's posible he actually researched it.

If this was a rerun of the teen challenge I watched a couple of years ago, the girl listed novel writing as one of her hobbies, and Alex quizzed her about it. She did a HORRIBLE job of explaining it, and it came off sounding like some stupid lame-o thing that nerds like her thought was cool...

If it was a new episode, then I certainly hope that the teen was able to explain him/herself a little bit better!

Angarhad, that sounds terribly unpleasant. I hope you feel better and that you can avoid the drills in the future. I'd have been so mad -- just arrived only to have to leave! Grr!

Still nothing from the insurance company, detectives or the dude was supposed to fix the door. Whatever. I'd rather not worry about any of it until it comes up. My husband, on the other hand, likes to get all the worrying out of the way first.

We've been told that about TV prices as well, Cheryl. We shall see!
