before we found each other, before we were lost

By John Sweet

before we found each other, before we were lost

like children rolling down
a hill of broken glass

the truth
and then the cost

the film of your life
played backwards
but you still can't see

you still make
the same mistakes
again and again

i love you anyway
but maybe that
was never even the point
