A Persuasion

"...as if eternity peers out of the moments..."

A Persuasion

Floating like clouds
in a sky -- that disappears at night
we see, distance.

We sing, but on the lips
leaps the silence
masticating the song within
turning into earth -- the words.

We kiss, and end up licking
the emptiness -- incongruous and tacit
like twigs in the throat. While the flower
blooms out of the vase -- of your mouth
brushing against mine, shedding off its petals.

The sun reflects in the puddle of your eyes,
as if eternity peers out of the moments,
painted on its palm -- the core, the unsayable.
We gaze at each other, standing
at the edges of our hearts,
await the doors to open,
with only our heartbeats to knock.
