A Planet Gone Berzerk

By Kimutai Kemboi Allan

A Planet Gone Berzerk

I read the weatherman’s report
“No rain today”
And went out in haste
Without much garment on my back

I came in the afternoon
Crumbled like a piece of paper
The torrents stole my warmth
As the weather defied the weatherman.

I sat close to my fireplace
Warming up my thoughts, thinking
“The weatherman is a liar” or
The planet has gone berserk.
