The Slow Wheel of Yesteryears

In this modern age of up-to-date apps,
man expects things fast, without any delays and laps.

He calls on the phone, shoots an email, and says dear.
He utilizes social media to reach admirers far and near.

Critics say things are rushed in this frantic, fast-paced craze,
relationships are deemed false, hence they fizzle out in a haze.

Or is it like elder critics who always reason that their days of youth
were better, politer than those of their own young, no matter the tech truth?

The winds of change are often in action, let's wind back to the days of old
whose rear- mirror shows oddness – when the world wasn't connected, we're told.

Fact, it was less technologically advanced, and clearly phones didn’t take over
young people’s lives, elders say messages were largely human and honest, digital lover!

Young fans contest and claim tech has enriched all: communication, relations, show business –
no soul should have to wait for ages for a consent. Let me pack it here, and mind my damn business!

Note: This piece is taken off my upcoming book titled: A Delicate Delivery: The Mad Midwives In Labour.
