Emotional wastelands enrich us
by reconnecting to ourselves.
They coerce us to rummage
romance in our folded chapters.

some portions require redrafting,
and few need to be frozen.

Over time, some words
surrender their shine.
Others are forgotten
in a flurry of footsteps.
