Volition

By Sanjeev Sethi

Volition

Inlying fluctuations
spawn a cadence
over which I
possess no clout.
It acquires a feel-good
consistency,
the closest I can get
to home-like calm.

I alight upon
excess of emotions
in your arms.
Are these fluctuations
or the fallout of love?
Is it a pattern to be
down in the mouth
in companionship?
