they told me take a dive
in the 3rd but
Kid Berkie never took
no dive
never would, or
will--
I stayed upright all
12 rounds, the
whole fight, and
afterward
they broke my manager's arm
and
I never fought again (in the Garden)
but
so what?
I will go down in history as
never having taken a dive--
never would
never will.
