Time and Money

By Ken Allan Dronsfield

Time and Money

Where does this damn time go?
Is it stored in batteries hidden in
the back of the underwear drawer?
Perhaps stored in a coconut radio
built by the Professor and hidden
by the lagoon on Gilligan's Island.
I think it might disappear into
the land of lost socks.
I feel disheartened as I search
for more.
It tires one out so quickly. It seems I use
more of it as I search for it.
I try to buy it, but the check always
bounces.
It appears the more of it I have;
the more I seem to spend?
Much like money ... how odd.
All my friends tell me,
you can't take it with you when you
go, but truthfully, I don't think I'll
waste my time!
