Dark nights of the soul don't always have to be so dark

By Charles Cicirella

Dark nights of the soul don't always have to be so dark.
(For Katheryn)

Let's stand together against all the bullshit and all of the darkness that does its best to suck us into an abyss of tyranny and loss.
Let's stop believing there's a shield around us that will keep us safe from all the monsters hiding beneath our beds.
Let's grab hold of each other like lifeboats or even better a rope that instead of hanging us out to dry will pull us up from the bottom of the sea and take us on a journey through the Tarzan and Jane trees.

You were standing there next to a jukebox of Scottish design while I was throwing back one Welch's 100% Grape Juice after another when we caught each other's eye.
There was a palpable energy that I still feel because you've always been in my heart as I am in yours until eternity sends us a certified letter and we're delivered to Asgard or some other mythological place that is equipped to handle souls of our stature.
The word unconditional is what I use when expressing my love and support for you because as heartbeats go mine has always skipped a beat when you enter the room and steal my consciousness away.

I'm knocked out loaded in the naked night Katie and so wish we could ramble to the break of dawn or at least until the Sunday funnies are delivered and the Silly Putty is laid out for us to play with.
We must break fast and learn to tumble without getting too banged up because many a tear will fall as you nurse your father back to health.
Let's stand together in a paradise no one can quite get their heads around because they have not yet learned to see the forest through the down in the groove trees.
