Rain Walker

By Luis Cuauhtemoc Berriozabal

Rain Walker

And I walk in the rain
for hours
night or day

In murky darkness
I come bearing

toads and worms.
I walk

and walk.
I do not rest.
I do not stop.

Bathed in salt rain
you will find me.

The scorpion sun
will nibble on my wet

feet and ankles.
I will not scream
night or day.
