Blood on the moon, again

By Lydia Manx

Desire -- Wild and Wet
Splatters the brain
Hoarse whispers in shadows
blood on the moon, again

Simple times -- long forgotten
Angry shouts of frantic souls
Powerless in death's embrace
all must fall -- no choice

Thundering of dark music
So hard and deep
Sends tremors over me
the edge of night calls out

Racing shades of gray
Quickly fill my vision
A monochrome landscape
washed free of color

Empty souls find me
Hidden in the dark
Forever watching life fade
from velvet lips and haunted eyes.
