God-Orb

By Donna Dallas

God-Orb

Now that's a sky
charcoal and chalk,
a coal-penciled sketch
mused from angels
currents of soft tangerine streak through
with pink cotton ball clouds
have I ever seen such an epic skyscape?
travelled to every corner of this earth
from dark continents
to the turquoise Caribbean
there is nothing more alluring than
a blood moon rising over a black oiled
evening ocean
where the universe is primitive as it
incants and summons
the earth's brew
