The First Spin

The spring bids adieu in haste
Raises dust all over
A scene from a 'western'
Summer heat in the air

My boy takes to the wheels
The hubby once pushed
His first cycle
Today the world belongs
To my son
New age loves
Heartbreaker of a city

I ache to sound modern
To ask which young woman would be charmed
Which one would get her first kiss?
In that car

But there I am
Wondering about seat belts
Safety nets

The city has changed so much
And yet ...
