Coincidence ... again

By Fabrice Poussin

Coincidence ... again

Few climb those hills any longer, for you see
life is so comfortable in the valleys where
no surprises haunt the steps of the meek.

If only they could imagine the ephemeral moments
carefully manufactured by a mindful universe
there for the taking of those who merely venture above so briefly.

Lucky is she who finds a little courage
an instant passed midday to hike the trails
and bask in a sun made of stories for the taking.

Invisible against the pure sky of ice
she continues on, firmly to her destination
a dream only she sees within her grasp.

Unexpected encounter made in her world
perhaps he too wrote a scene or two
for she slows her gait to gently stop and smile at a vision.

There is no coincidence, a voice uttered in the deep
no chance meeting when you reach the heavens
no more illusion when following the written path.
