Hotel Room, Panama Beach, Florida

and four days of monsoon, the
thrashing ocean 11 floors down
all night bish bang flop onto
Omaha Beach shore, rain
bullets raking the deck windows--
Boom! Doom of thunder and
squiggle of lightning--
porpoise eek at dawn and
swog hollow of groupers
fat as hogs
in the bay.
