A. Frank Bower took early retirement from mental health work in 2006 to write, study writing and spend time with his wife Carol. He workshopped with Dan Pope and Sari Rosenblatt at CT Wesleyan, but credits his local writers group Poplar Writers -- Geof Fowler, Carol Parker and Lynn Wilcox -- with helping him most. He has published 16 short stories, 4 memoirs and 4 poems to date.

A. Frank Bower

Biography

A. Frank Bower, youngest of 7 children, grew up in Meriden, CT. He met Carol, his wife of 28 years, in Middletown, CT, where they've resided since 1982. He took early retirement from mental health work in 2006 to write, study writing and spend time with Carol.

Bower workshopped with Dan Pope and Sari Rosenblatt at CT Wesleyan, but credits his local writers group Poplar Writers--Geof Fowler, Carol Parker and Lynn Wilcox--with being his staunchest critics and greatest support, along with his wife.

His short fiction has appeared in "Down in the Dirt," "Mature Years," "Lady Jane's Miscellany," "Sangam," "Bewildering Stories," "Glossolalia" and the Whispering Angel Books anthology "Living Lessons." A poem appears in the September 15, 2010 issue of "Chiron Review." "Pocket Smut," "Write This" and "Drunken Boat" will publish fiction in months to come. His longest story, "New Farm," is available for download at "Books to Go Now."
