Micki Morency

Biography

Micki Morency is a Haitian-American, born in Port-au-prince Haiti. She grew up with six siblings in a very close knit family. She came to the US in 1973 with her family and settled in Massachusetts, graduating from Northeastern University with a BS in Finance in 1981. For many years, she worked as a Bank Auditor, before finding her calling as an advocate for the elderly, the young and the disabled.

For ten years she owned and managed a retirement home in St Petersburg, Florida. She worked as a case manager at a transitional housing for homeless women and children. From 2000 to 2004, Micki worked as a Support Coordinator for the State of Florida, providing case management services to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Her diverse background has enriched her life and has provided her with a great source of issues and experiences to write about. Micki is an avid reader and an enthusiastic storyteller. She loves to travel to new places and meet new people. Micki makes friends wherever she goes; she loves to talk. She writes so she can share her personal experiences through fiction, non-fiction and essays with unsuspecting victims. She lives with her husband in Florida since 1984, where they raised two daughters.
