About John Queen

John Queen lives in Central California, where he makes his wife Alex and his daughter Lillian very happy, and does not offend the rest of his relatives. Well, not that often, at least.

John spent eight years in the USAF, where he attained the rank of sergeant and visited inhospitable regions such as Bosnia, Serbia, Greenland (it was cold), and North Dakota (it was colder - the natives were fairly hostile, too). He served in the Gulf War and was stationed in Turkey for several years, developing an abiding affection for the people, cultures, and cooking of the region.

The Queen family has a strong military tradition and looks with pride upon family members in the service: Great-granpa Pasenko, who served in WWI; Grandpa Hayden, who served in WWII; brother-in-law Ed, one of the youngest colonels in the military; brother Chris who usually plays with tanks in Alaska.

Though John is fond of all things involving history, sci-fi and fantasy, he is even more fond of the hard working men and women of our armed forces (who put their lives on the line for us) and of little babies (who are people, too). Especially the ones that haven't been born yet (military personnel and little babies both). Democrats have deeply offended him with their consistent military cuts (meaning that our military personnel are asked to risk their lives, but aren't given the best means available to back them up when they do so) and their pro-abortion stances. Most of what John writes revolves around those two issues.
