David Sebek was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and spent his early childhood traveling between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres before settling in Houston, Texas. A graduate of Texas A&M University, he has spent nearly thirty years teaching diverse student populations, with a special passion for gifted education. In 2011, he was honored as the Texas State Teacher of the Year for the Gifted by the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented.
As a writer, David explores the darker edges of imagination in short stories that blend realism with the uncanny. His published works include “A Humid Night,” “Almost,” “Dyslexia,” and “All in Good Time.” When he's not writing or teaching, he enjoys running slow but determined half-marathons and fulfilling his friends' and family's Etsy dreams by recreating their online finds in his workshop.
