The 510th Man on the Moon

By John Grey

The 510th Man on the Moon

So this is the moon. Big deal.
Sure the view of Earth is spectacular.
But the scenery around me
is as dull as my mother’s cooking.

If I thought the future was just
going to be cold, dead rock,
and an airless atmosphere,
I would have stayed behind in the present.

There aren’t even any moon men.
No underground cities. No monsters.
My dreams are science fiction.
My reality is science fact.
