Inside Your Window

By Stephen Jarrell Williams

Inside Your Window

Inside your window
behind the glass
you wait
for me
to change...

I've tried for years
and now I can't remember
what I changed from...

Maybe it's your turn to change?

Or maybe you should
press your face against the glass
and see me

walking away
mumbling to myself

going to check in
with the guy in a white coat
writing notes
his eyes already bulging
from the first few words

cracking the glass.
