Taste the Future

By Luis Cuauhtémoc Berriozábal

Taste the Future

I kiss you in my thoughts.
I wonder if I give myself away.
I kiss your lips as if I just
discovered love.

I can taste the future
as shadows overwhelm me.

I gaze at your smile and into
your eyes. I would give anything
to be with you. Out of mind,
I open up to possibilities.

Blinded by love,
one fine morning,

do I kiss it all away?
Should I give you my heart
pure and raw?
I can taste the future.
