Best Life

By Zhihua Wang

Best Life

Eat less for supper,
and rest early
when my brain
can’t absorb.

Lying in bed,
dreaming the food
I love to cook
and the words
I long to pore over.

The next day
when I get up,
I’ll always be reminded
of that hunger.
