Mathematicians, Scientists, Poets

By Charlotte Cosgrove

Mathematicians, Scientists, Poets

Archimedes jumped out of the bath.
They say he was Eureka’ing.
He’d realised that gravity rises
When he should have been relaxing.

Isaac Newton noticed a boring old apple
Fall from a tree --
An everyday occurrence that drove him to action
When he was at home because of the Plague.

They were alchemists searching
For answers.
Answers found them, unexpectedly,
Like Poets.
