…from the notion of “rendering an account” comes the sense
“statement answering for conduct” (mid-14c.) and the general sense
“narration, recital of facts,” attested by 1610s


All stories find ways to be true eventually.
It’s just… easier.
Some even manage to be entertaining.

Many, sadly, never meet their ideal reader and
most, frankly, would benefit from several run throughs
with a half-decent editor.

A different author too, more often than not.
