This is the Day

By Ed Moyer

The dawn breaks upon my cold heart
The rays warm my swivelled soul
The day breaks freshly
Promising a new chance

Life holds so many mysteries
So few certainties
Love is what we all need
Treachery is a practice of futility

Your deceptions no longer hold a foothold here
My nightmares fade into the background
As the sun creeps up the sky
I realize my dreams, are achievable
I know that I am better off

Walking away
Sun on my face
Each day gets easier
This is the day
That God hath made for me
