The Shipwreck Coast

By Ian C. Smith

The Shipwreck Coast

Shacks, shrouded in silence troubling him,
memory no-shows like old pals now
on winter's beach, he strips bare to swim.
Shacks shrouded in silence troubling him
he grieves fled youth by the wreck, gaunt-grim,
its buoyant days done, sand-interred scow.
Shacks shrouded in silence, troubling him:
memory no-shows, like old pals now.
