Bruise

By J.R. Barner

Bruise

Blood without blood
Brokenness yet unbroken
Dark enough
To call attention
To this
Purplish
Nebula of pain.
I let my
Fingers
Trace its
Circumference
To take in
The reminder
To remember
The motivation
Lying beneath
The skin.
