No Olives To Branch

By John Patrick Robbins

No Olives To Branch

I will meet you upon that space for which we have met many times before.

Dreaming in delusion, betting on false promises, and banking on tomorrow's ever-uncertain future.

I will meet you there, as I did promise, but you never echoed my heart's truth in return.
A false hope leaves me empty.
As I stand alone with only my pain to embrace.

I guess you answered my reply within your actions.
Not all lessons are so easily learned.
