Like a Ghost

By Luis Cuauhtemoc Berriozabal

Like a Ghost

I was a castaway,
the washed-up body in
the waves not far from shore.
I was left to die and
did not disappoint them.
Make no mistake, I will
come back like the ghost of
nightmares, with vengeance, while
I haunt them one by one.
I will ride my ghost horse
through the living rooms, their
kitchens, and their bedrooms.
They will never sleep in
peace. I will never stop
haunting them till they die.

Brilliant poem! I am loving the metaphors throughout.
