The Relativeness of Sharpness

The guillotine is a poor teacher.
A severed head an unwilling student,
making eye contact
when it hears its name,
only to learn how silence
the language of death,
and I can't help
but know I don't need to know
the way a brain translates
a terror trapped
on the wrong side of words.
