Finding out someone you used to know has died

"...an apple believing it has wings..."

Finding out someone you used to know has died

feels like remembering in reverse --
a one way street
you tell yourself is going
the wrong way,
or an apple believing it has wings,
only to discover gravity,
but at least the old sitcoms,
alive with dead actors,
can still make you laugh.
