Sea Song

"...to address us who once came out of the waters..."

Sea Song

The sea sings in different dialects
from hour to hour and day to day,
given the gift of tongues to address
us who once came out of the waters
to flow across the arid lands.

We are pulled back to the ocean,
primordial birthplace, listening
not to the Sirens’ call, but to the
lullaby of Gaia’s canorous heartbeat;
sibilance of amniotic tides of creation.
