To Fool Ourselves into Acting

"...where I lost myself, driving aimlessly..."

To Fool Ourselves into Acting

statistics said
stop

then both of us did.

red octagons came fast
into view. disappointed

how long we stayed &
how short. then again
LA’s where you grew up

& where I lost myself,
driving aimlessly
in the smog of endless

grids, the whites of my eyes
turning gray

said
pollute me
