In the Beginning

"...emotions trailed behind, following a sorrowful path..."

In the Beginning

The beginning was the end. The end of all she
knew and cared about. Her job, her home, her
friends. A life of promises & lies.

Suspended in a vacuum, breath torn
from her chest. Not knowing which way to go,
she turned away. Her emotions trailed behind,
following a sorrowful path. Twilight into
dusk into night.

Things do not always turn out the way we plan.

She remembered darning the last pair of socks
when her feet were bare and cold. She only
had blue thread. The socks were black. The
rough repair rubbed against her skin, an
irritating reminder of her past.
The sun began to rise.

Looking out the window, she knew what she
had to do. She packed away her fears and set
off into the future.
The end was the beginning.
