Road to Oblivion

"...A schism grows wider with each word spoken..."

Road to Oblivion

I want to go back to sleep.
I want to shut out the world / make the pain go away.

When did you stop loving me?
When did we fade into oblivion,
each going our own way?

Did your aversion cast me into the black hole,
or did my melancholy sow your resentment?
A schism grows wider with each word spoken.

I want to close my eyes / to pretend.
To live life the way it used to be
before the void swallowed us whole.

When did neglect become the norm?
When did oblivion win?
