Hangover

"...right next to the singed words of the past and of the future..."

Hangover

set the words
ablaze, charred papers on
the floor next to empty
bottles, the ruins all that’s
left, remnants of what
was, what would have
been. empty bottles carrying false
promises, lies from algid hearts, they’re
right next to the singed words of
the past and of the future. hand by
hand, the withered tomorrows and the razed yesterdays.
today belongs in another
bottle sitting next to a torch.
