Called Out

"...having trouble catching his breath and climbing stairs..."

Called Out

my old buddy
was having trouble
catching his breath and
climbing stairs, but
he refused to see a doctor
and then
he died
sitting up
in a chair
while watching the Boston Red Sox
baseball game
on TV, and
far from his ex-wife and son
only his brother
nearby,
asleep
in a bed
upstairs...
After a third strike,
called.
