The Abduction of Piccarda Donati from the Convent of Monticelli

In blue long sleeves, a man is clad
her chocolate-colored scapular he grabs

in yellow sleeves, another man clothed
holds her coffee-painted garment part

in pink sleeves, the third man’s covered
pulls her guimpe of cocoa-pigment.

Escaping is not enough
offer thy life to thy household deity
let fortitude face any sword, axe, or fire
a higher sphere sweetly awaits in celestial sky.
