Unfurling the Palette of October

"...a verse that splatters with golden ochre..."

Unfurling the Palette of October

Transcribe the amber-orange
from the black
of my orbs
where owls nest
& shove the beauty
of this autumnal transformation
into a verse that splatters
with golden ochre
on the pages of
another mind

The work (words leavened/
thoughts loosened)
of a poet
is to render the observed scenes
of the physical plane
into emotionally experienced sensations
felt at the core
through vibrational spells
of inscribed language
sculpted into patterned form
somewhere near the melting point
of connected hearts
where the splintered veil
falls from a turmeric sky
& the urgency of a sanguine season
is birthed apparent
