The sounds of Winter

This author lives in northern Minnesota with her husband, along side the wolves, bears, and bobcats. When not writing she enjoys painting, walking, and volunteering at local thrift store.

The sounds of winter

winter sounds are not that of jingle bells or carolers
winter is the sound of moaning ice as a lake freezes
winter is the sound of soft snow falling
winter is the sound of wind swirling during a blizzard
winter is the sound of a crackling fire that warms you
winter is the sound of wolves howling as they find their dinner
winter is the sound of a pileated woodpecker kackling near by
winter is the sound of snow crunching under your feet
winter is the sound of icicles melting in bright sunlight
these are the sounds of winter i hear
put them all together
and it is a symphony
