Drinking Alone Again on Christmas Day

"...compassion even more intoxicating when you find it..."

Drinking Alone Again on Christmas Day

The purgatory between each Guinness
helps an empty glass turn to hell
while an unopened can becomes god
his compassion even more intoxicating
when you find it
under a bag of rotten carrots
bought for Thanksgiving
but never used

Your soul desperate enough to believe
you're doing a dead man's float
because that's easier than sinking
