Colorado Mountains

"...A glimpse into the depths of forever..."

Colorado Mountains

Deep in the snowcapped mountains
Nighttime sky crystal clear blue lake
Nearby campfire crackling
Woodsmoke drifting
Sweet scent of pine
A can of bubbling beans in the red-hot coals
A taste of something special.

Overhead a canopy of stars
New meaning to starlight
The air stunningly clear
A satellite is spied passing by
Thousands of miles away
Flirting on the edge of outer space
A glimpse into the depths of forever.

What is this sudden feeling?
This primal elation under the stars?
He turns to his two friends
They don’t speak only smile
All three of them feeling it
The sharing of this special moment
This cosmic joy
This starlight of wonder and beyond
On the edge of eternity.

This really captures the amazing feelings when close to such natural wonders.

Oh yes. That moment, too, when the first and faintest light comes. You look up through the trees and don't know what you're seeing - is it tree, is it light? A magic and fleeting moment when you don't know anything, don't mind and just let go.
