Glenn Armstrong draws inspiration from the flotsam and jetsam of the American experience. He was equally at home at both CBGBs and a Buddhist monastery. He lives in San Diego.

Portal

Black hole in my heart
emits a signal at regular
intervals.

AI assistant dismisses
my lab results. She wants
me to die, and orders
stuffed crust pizza often.

Intergalactic junk food
junkies stock up on earth.
Energy drinks send saucers
spinning across the sky.

Mind sucking vampires
from another universe
hacked my phone.
They feed on FB posts.

Glowing fungi creatures
party in my bathtub after
hours. I don’t mind except
the little one can’t sing.

Drones over Hollywood!
Drones over Detroit!
Drones over Passaic, NJ!
What do they want?

(I guess we’ll never know).
