The Morality of Fin, Feathers, and Fur

By Linda Imbler

The Morality of Fin, Feathers, and Fur

No false tears or smiles,
their greatness lies
in their army of hearts.

Their time is not long,
but they leave us as happy people,
their bravery not forgotten.

If they could speak,
would they speak of the soul?
They live as if they understand,
and they fathom
the eternity of each living thing.
