Cumulus Changelings

"...like a rocket volley of marshmallow cakes..."

Cumulus Changelings

Subduing circus clouds
once out of control, angry patches
now flow serenely, shifting shapes,
growing large then tapering off
into a dozen separate entities
like a rocket volley of marshmallow
cakes and barrages that scatter
like a liquid cotton canopy
riddled with hole and wide open
spaces that linger briefly then reform
into a singular body as fluid as lava
lamp wax, heating, moving, morphing.
