Motes

"...Visible only in the sunlight..."

Motes

The living room
Bric-a-brac sitting on a shelf
Flowers in a vase on a coffee table

Dust motes drifting lazily through the air
Visible only in the sunlight
Coming through the gossamer curtains
Unseen everywhere else
Settling slowly on the bric-a-brac
Dulling the finish

Lazily landing on the flower petals
Though the flowers will be dead
Long before they can be covered
