"...at least you turned up..."

Implied Contract

I can tell just looking at you you’re not
the ideal reader for this poem but
at least you turned up so thank you for that.
  I don’t quite know what you were expecting
although if pressed I’d guess not this. Perhaps
to be delighted, enriched or inspired?

  If so, you’ve grabbed the wrong end of the stick.
  This is a shared space and I rather need
you to pull your weight. If that’s not you (and
I get the feeling it won’t be) then fine.
  No money’s changed hands. No papers were signed.
  Best we call it a day before I say

something we’ll both regret.
